Let's get this party started.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Football Forum and Message Board history tells me MDDad has the best grip on whom is in and how all these numbers work. So question one, is the OPEN division already set? Its Servite and MV?
And for Bick, did last nights loss eliminate Los Al as they are 3rd place in league? Are they hoping for a "At Large" berth? Calpreps has them now at #13 in D3, would that keep them in?
I suppose we wait and see for tomorrows CIF release and brackets.

Los Al is an auto-qualifier - 3rd place in a 6 team league.
Here's my stab at D3 keeping all the rules intact of same league opponents being in either opposite brackets or meeting no earlier than the semi-finals in the event 3 from the same league are in. I've got Moorpark getting the AL nod over Santiago by virtue of tougher schedule based on opponents' W/L record.
Team on the right is the home team. League champs get first priority of home games, followed by 2nd place teams. I might have St Francis and Cathedral wrong as I don't know who won the coin flip. Also, CIF often interjects itself into travel considerations, and might alter the whole thing in an attempt to save a team an extra 30 minutes of travel time.
Moorpark (Camino 4) #1 CDM (Sunset 1) Tesoro (South Coast 3) St Francis (Angelus 1 T) Heritage (Ivy 2) Cajon (Citrus Belt 1) Los Al (Sunset 3) #4 La Habra (Freeway 1) Capo Valley (South Coast 4) #3 Grace Brethren (Camino 1) Paraclete (Gold Coast 4) Lawndale (Ocean 2) Westlake (Marmonte 3) Edison (Sunset 2) #2 Alemany (Mission 3) Cathedral (Angelus 1 T)

SK80, the brackets won't be official until noon tomorrow, but the D-1 bracket is about as set as it can be with only #6 losing this weekend. Since they lost to the #1 team, it shouldn't change their placement.
I would almost be willing to bet a kidney it will be:
#8 Bishop Amat at #1 Mater Dei #5 Servite at #4 Mission Viejo
#6 JSerra at #3 Corona Centennial #7 Calabasas at #2 St. John Bosco

In the past we had a round of blow outs, now for the top 8, two weeks of prep for good match ups...better games may actually take place...

One thing that hasn't been mentioned on this board is that JSerra's fortunes took a hit last night when RB Chris Street broke his fibula on his second carry of the game.

It’s irrelevant. With one, perhaps two exceptions we already know what the outcomes are going to be. We’ve known who the finalists will be for the last few years. It’s like betting the sun will rise in the east..................Luca

Servite Mission will have the feel of a championship game. I think for Servite a win there would be like winning a championship. Just getting to the semi finals and getting a chance to play in a big game against MD would be a reward even though the result is predetermined.

I had Moorpark getting in over Santiago in D3. Same record, stronger league, better opponent W/L record.
Any insight out there?

Did they do coin flips for home field in the semifinals of D1? I couldn’t find anything on the CIF website.
