This whole thing is pretty hilarious. Yes, Bullock's recruiting techniques are probably the most blatant and rule-breaking in the industry. But if every school that recruited 8th graders or kids from other high schools was placed on probation, the entire Division 1 playoff bracket would be empty, as would most of Division 2.

Which leaves the best HSF in D3 !!!

Who is Bullock? TERRY BULLOCK IS THE SUSPENDED COACH AT BOSCO. THE PENALTY WAS SUPPOSEDLY SELF-IMPOSED BUT I AM NOT A BOSCO INSIDER SO WHO KNOWS. HE IS THE ONE THAT GOES AROUND AND PIMPS THE PROGRAM AND PLAYERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. AND HIS KEYBOARD CONTAINS NO LOWER CASE LETTERS.

Los Al v Lawndale
One of those David v Goliath matchups. Lawndale playing the role of Goliath with a huge OL / DL that had a good 50# + size advantage on both sides of the ball, and athletes all over the place.
QB Jalon Daniels reminds of Lamar Jackson, they've got a monster 6'5 / 305 OT heading to USC, and a beast of a DE Tuli Tuiapulo who stands in at 6'3 / 266 and holds offers from the pac 12 schools and Nebraska. I think Ethan Garbers should hit that kid up to join him at UW.
Griffins were down 3 senior starters for this one, so more of the younguns saw the field again.
Game started pretty much as I thought it might. We got the ball first and went 3 & out with 2 big sacks with freshman Nelson getting the start. Lawndale then took it 51 yds for a score in about 4 plays. It really looked like there were nothing but red jerseys on the field on that first drive.
After another 3/ out, Griffins D held and forced a punt. SR McConnell came in for the next series and drove LA for a score tying the game at 7. A couple more series, and Nelson back in at Q. He drives the LA for a score and the Griffs lead 14-7. Lawndale punched one in before the half and we're tied heading into the locker room.
Lawndale comes out in the 2nd half and pretty much ditches the passing game going to a full house back field. 2 scores later and it's 27-14 with about 5 minutes left. Nelson leads the Griffs for a score to make it 27-21 with 3 minutes left.
Griffins D holds for a 3 /out and get the ball back with under 2 minutes at the 30 with 1 TO left. 4 incompletions later, and it's celebration time for Lawndale.
Not a great season in the standings, but lots of fun watching the kids grow in front of our eyes.

Did they do coin flips for home field in the semifinals of D1? I couldn’t find anything on the CIF website. For some silly reason, because there are no D-1 games this coming weekend, the coin flips for the second round will be held next weekend. Another gem from the CIF brain trust. I believe they did coin flips today for the semifinals. The CIF sure doesn’t make it easy to find information on their website. Anybody know the outcomes of this?

Assuming higher seeds win it would be 3rd year in a row the semis are at Mission. But I think Servite/Mission game is a toss up. It sucks for Bosco to have to play at Cen10. I know we have handled them easily the last 2 games but I am very thankful we don’t have to face them in the semifinals.

Because Newport Harbor won and shares Davidson Field w/ CDM, the Sea Kings will host the Cowboys on Saturday night at 7 pm. Should give high school football fans a good opportunity too catch a game they normally couldn't, I always thought they should split some games between Friday and Saturday so more fans can see the good teams make runs during the playoffs.

Very entertaining game at Mission last night...the best I've seen this season. Both offenses were unstoppable in Q4. Fifita was making some unreal throws. Looked like Centers got dinged with a hammy after a long catch and run late Q3, and didn't see him return.
Nice season for the Friens. Really turned it around, and will be right up there again with all that returning talent.
