Bick, are you implying that liberals are hypocrites? My God, what a novel theory! Well, I was actually shooting for a two-pronged indictment. The primary point was their buffet style approach of one-price gets you all that great looking "stuff" you can eat, with visions of Clark & Eddie trying to figure out if the blue stuff was chicken or beef. The overtone you correctly identified was that while their constituency was in the buffet line, they'd be enjoying a much different version of Mac & Cheese in a different restuarant. You may have caught part of a recent interview where former Obama A.G. Eric Holder (the same guy who was held in contempt of Congress in connection with Fast & Furious) questioned whether America was ever really "great." Mike Pence answered:
Even out of office these guys can't get out of their own way.

Because it's only about power.

And, to Pence’s tweet, all kinds of cretins are responding with crap like, “blacks couldn’t vote” or “people, owned slates.” to be clear then, “Great” doesn’t mean “perfect.” “Great” means excelling despite the flaws and correcting the flaws as we find them.

Democrats in 1998: Starr Report should not be released to the public.
Democrats in 2019: Mueller Report needs to be released to the public!
On the bright side, Jerry Nadler has dropped several dozen pounds in the past 20 years.

Additionally, in 1998, the law was that the special prosecutor had to turn the entire report over to Congress. That was changed over the years, so that now, the law is it is illegal to turn the report over to Congress un-redacted.
So Nadler is actually consistent, he always wants to ignore the law.

Nadler has lots of company. Virtually every Democratic member of Congress, as well as all the usual suspects on TOB, are calling for the report to be made public, which would be a direct violation of the law. Criminal investigations either result in indictments, or they don't. When they don't, the results of the investigation always remain confidential. I suspect it's nothing more than hatred that has people wanting to break the law in this case.

Interesting. What statute covers this? Wondering how congress could get away with a direct violation.

Congress can't get away with it & most of those calling for the release know that (there are a few like AOC that are just ignorant). Those calling for its release know it won't be released un-redacted, so then they can claim it is all a cover-up when it isn't released.
There is a special place in hell for people who knowingly take actions like this for political gain at the expense of the country & its citizens. There is an adjoining room for those in the media who don't question said politicians and call them out on the carpet over such an obviously political ploy.

I'm not certain, but I assume it's the same federal legislation that establishes the rules for appointing a special counsel and governs what he can and can't do. But even beyond that, confidentiality is a fundamental tenet of our system of justice. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are investigated for possible criminal conduct every year. If those investigations don't uncover the evidence required for an indictment, the details of the investigation and its findings are never made public. Why should the specific case of the Mueller investigation be any different?

And the Democrats solution to everything is more government, all the time.

With out-of-control cost overruns, $500-toilet seats, weapons systems nobody seems to want and the seeming ability to print money, I'm not sure I'd point to the military as something that is running smoothly.

The military works, but that is because it is authoritarian. The money and issues with veterans are government issues, not military ones.
Government works best when it is allowed to be authoritarian, hence the reason it should be small & limited.

So apparently the "Reverend" Al Sharpton had an Action Network Convention in New York this past weekend, attended by several of the top Democratic contenders for next year's nomination. Sharpton asked the crowd who would vote for the House bill currently under consideration to provide reparations to black Americans. Without knowing the details of the bill or how it would be implemented, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Beto O'Rourke, Kirsten Gillibrand and Kamala Harris all answered yes, absolutely.
In America's long history, it's usually been the smaller fringe parties that have added the lunatic planks to their platforms, while the two (or three) major parties have always taken positions at least a little more realistic. With the Green New Deal and Black Reparations, the Democrats now seem to be jumping the shark and embracing lunacy in all it's many shapes and colors. WTF has happened to the party of Roosevelt and Kennedy?
My family came to this country in 1955, and I can confirm that we've never owned any slaves. If I'm forced to pay into a reparations fund merely because I'm white, it will be the single most racist act ever passed by our federal government in my lifetime.
