Something similar happened at poly when a kid xferd to La Habra in 2015,then reported poly as he didn't move...or something to that effect.
I don't think that kid even played.

There are a lot of folks in San Clemente that take pride in the fact that for years SC has been a team of home grown talent. Many have not been happy with the last two QBs being transfers from outside of the San Clemente area that displaced local kids. Then last week another QB transfer comes in from St. John Bosco. The SC parents and supporters don't want the team fo be full of mercenaries like Mater Dei and Mission Viejo that have no connection to San Clemente.

I noticed in the paper that they gave a bye to San Clemente's playoff opponent for next week. I think that is a mistake, if the offense was enough to kick San Clemente out of the playoffs, then the last team they beat should be allowed to play in this weeks game. I haven't been following Division 2, so I don't know who it is, but it seems (especially at the high school level), the equitable thing to do is to allow the last team that San Clemente beat to move on in the playoffs.

Yeah, I have been recommending that Rancho Verde, San Clemente's 2nd round opponent should be playing Chaminade in the semifinals, and I still feel that way. However, Steve Fryer points out that San Clemente's 1st round opponent, also received a forfeit win, and should have been in the 2nd round playing Rancho Verde, had the Tritons been ousted earlier. Should they flip a coin? Should the highest rated of the two go? (Rancho Verde).

As a practical matter, there really wouldn't be a way for the first round loser to be considered. They've turned in their gear 2 weeks ago, and likely had some kids move on to other sports.

Practically as a matter..., yes. But don't tell me RV players and coaches wouldn't be chomping at the bit to get a semi-final reprieve..... I think if SC doesn't get it appeal, CIF just moves on with Chaminade to avoid any more backseat controversy or as we "quarterbacking".

I do think RV should be allowed to continue if SC is shut down, but the MUCH bigger story here is the circumstances surrounding how this whole thing came to be.

I think what's done is done, and you can't go back and undo all of it. It's also possible there were teams San Clemente played during the regular season that didn't make the playoffs only because San Clemente beat them and that cost them enough points in the CIF formula to miss out. It would take more mathematical skill than the CIF has to unravel all of it.

Transfers are a part of high school athletics, however they have to be done correctly and legitimately. Seems like MV/MD/SJB parents are fine with winning or competing more than others. The fact is some people don't like competition, especially if they think they've been slighted. This" Hero" Dad is just bitter and thinks, since his kid helped beat MV last year, that he should have been gifted the starting QB spot. Sorry Daddy, it doesn't work like that. Your son had multiple opportunities throughout the entire year to be "the guy", simply put 49% completion percentage (per Maxpreps) isn't getting it done. This Dad has been going after the transfer QB since day 1. Nice job "Hero".
Does anyone know when the appeal will be decided? Apparently SC is appealing?
Was it the dad or the mom??

I understand, but if you let Rancho Verde back in the playoffs, then you also have to let Valencia back in. How does that work with five teams in the semifinals?
