Very unlikely this is overturned tomorrow AM. What a mess. Funny thing is that there are so many transfers everywhere. SC just got caught. Bottom line is that CIF doesn't reeeaallllyy want to deal with something like this, however when things are self-reported they can't ignore them. SC should have denied, denied, denied, just like their neighbors to the North would have done.

I understand, but if you let Rancho Verde back in the playoffs, then you also have to let Valencia back in. How does that work with five teams in the semifinals? Valencia/Rancho Verde coin flip, or take the higher ranked team (Rancho Verde). |

Maybe, but sending neither team amounts to screwing BOTH teams. At least my way, only one of those two teams gets the short end of the stick.

So the sage continues this morning.... San Clemente player’s appeal denied, will take matter to court Friday

 There will be a court hearing Friday morning to decide if the San Clemente football team will be reinstated to the CIF Southern Section football playoffs and perhaps play its Division 2 semifinal against Chaminade on Friday night.
San Clemente had to forfeit all of its games this season and was disqualified from the playoffs Tuesday because of an ineligible player. The CIF-SS said it found violations of two CIF State bylaws, including pre-enrollment contact.
The player, senior quarterback Nick Billoups, a transfer from St. Anthony in Long Beach, and his mother appealed the CIF-SS decision, but the appeal was denied Thursday.
CIF-SS commissioner Rob Wigod said Thursday evening the player’s family received a temporary restraining order and will seek an injunction during a hearing Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana. If the injunction is granted, the player will become eligible and San Clemente will be reinstated for the playoffs. |

I've seen or read about the "parent" being the one whom ousted, is that fact or stated anywhere or just hearsay? This story looks to cover much of the subject matter we have discussed for many seasons now.... there will be much to talk about once it's concluded. |

Does Eric Ciaramella have a kid on the San Clemente team? I heard he was the whistleblower, but his identity has to remain secret because other parents might kick his ass.
