I don't know with the CIF is expected to do. If a school reports itself for having used an ineligible student the CIF can't just ignore its own rules.
It's now just an overwhelmed policing organization, not a reliable enforcement organization anymore. Nor is it wealthy. If schools and parents are going to file lawsuits against them when they try to enforce the rules what do you expect from them?
We all know certain schools routinely ignore CIF regulations in the all out drive to just win, and there's no shortage of clueless daddies who only need to contact or be approached by one of the programs willing to deal with them.
This is the for pathetic result I had feared for the last 20 years, and if you were paying attention you could see it coming. It's been going on in basketball for 15 -20 or more years, but now D1 CIF HSFB is simply a preseason warm up for two or possibly three programs. And there's not a fornicating thing the CIF can do to stop, let alone reverse it...............................Luca

Likely denied anyway per the judge.
I can't imagine what life for the jealous dad must be like for him to report his own team.
Can't blame either the school or CIF on this, crappy as it is.

I don't think they can ever take all this back, what they can do is set maybe another parameter on it whether by limit, numbers, miles, times changed. No matter the underfunded, understaffed, under policed CIF will never keep up with any of these rules set forth or added. Maybe there should just be NO RULES!

It seems that if you're in a position to adjudicate an issue, you should be given the leeway to use discretion as opposed to the hard and fast rule.

If he is saying that CIF treats publics and privates differently, I think he's wrong. Maybe top level privates would have caught the transfer application error about the prior contact.
