Servite (12-1) is the #2 seed in boys soccer. Mater Dei (10-1) is the #2 seed in girls soccer. If the entire Servite team was willing to turn trans, that might be a great matchup. If the entire team went trans they'd win the World Cup. Unfortunately this would make them ineligible to remain at Servite. Why? They'd still be dudes.

I would let them remain at Servite and provide prom dates for the other boys....

Servite Soccer defeated Mater Dei 1-0 yesterday, thereby clinching the Trinity League Championship for the 9th straight season!
Congratulations Friars!

MDDad is devastated I am. God knows, high school league soccer championships is the first thing I think about when I wake up every morning, and Servite having won nine in a row eats at me most of the day. But then I remember our traditional rivals are also 18-32 in league football games over the last decade, with no league championships, and I almost immediately feel better.

Not sure why Mater Dei would even think about Servite Soccer, considering that the Monarchs haven't even been in the top two this year...or last year either for that matter.

I agree, and I shouldn't have made a joke about pretending that I do think about it. But I'm also not sure why Servite fans would even think about Mater Dei Football, considering that the Friars "haven't even been in the top two this year...or last season either for that matter"...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that...or the year before that.

Well, you're correct, of course, about Trinity League Football, but even your Biden-imitating brain should remember that we DID finish 2nd in the Division 1 playoffs, just just over two months ago.
In case you don't remember, we played the long game, sacrificing the battle for league runner-up, in order to clobber Bosco for that D1 finalist spot:

Yeah, well, we've been there before.
After winning or sharing seven straight league football titles, including winning 19 league games in a row, none of the other league teams were shy about dishing out payback in 2012.

The good news is the Friars beat J Serra for the 3rd time this season. The bad news is that each time it got harder, and we may well meet them a 4th time in the state championship playoffs.
