After reading about all the hysteria and overreaction to what will eventually be for the most part a not-such-a-big-deal viral illness, I think the real problem is that too many people have been watching too many zombie apocalypse movies..........................Luca

Would it be correct to describe the Coronavirus as just a very nasty flu bug? I see people panicking and wanting to shut down public gatherings, but it is only lethal to older people with existing health concerns.
Is there any evidence to the contrary that in 3 months, this entire virus will for the most part be forgotten by the public?

Would it be correct to describe the Coronavirus as just a very nasty flu bug? That's what I've heard from my personal physician and from our team doctor. The estimates vary all over the place, but it seems the mortality rate is somewhere around 2 to 3%, which is five to ten times the rate of the normal flu, but still very low. Furthermore, those deaths are almost exclusively from the very old, the very young, and the very susceptible (i.e. those with compromised immune systems or other weakening conditions) For people who don't fall into those group, the symptoms seems to be like any other garden variety flu, and indeed some people may have had it and not even known it. |

Millions of Americans' lives revolve around what they see on television and read on social media. So when you have an MSM determined to use this outbreak as the latest attempt to blame Trump for ANYTHING, the result is the mass hysteria we are seeing. This is NOT of Donald Trump's making, and it is not his Katrina. |

That video is all the proof we need. People stupid enough to wrap a plastic bag around their kids' heads are stupid enough to believe anything. I'd call them sheep, but sheep have more common sense.
