Attacking her religion will backfire on the Democrats, but my guess is that won't be able to help themselves from going down that road.

He calls himself Catholic, but doesn't follow the tenets of the religion. Kind of like you calling yourself intelligent when there is no proof you belong to that club. Your ignorance & hatred of Catholicism is immense. Biden & Pelosi claim that they are Catholic, attempting to use it as a protective cape, despite the fact that they flout the most basic tenets of the religion daily. Barrett is a devout Catholic and the left considers that to be a deficiency. The first amendment doesn't protect the freedom to practice your faith in a manner that the left & Vilepagan find pleasing, it protects the freedom to practice your faith in a manner that you prefer. You don't get to tell the Catholic religion what is & isn't acceptable and you don't get to define Catholicism by holding up fake Catholics as symbols of the religion. When it comes to religion, your job is to sit down & STFU. |

I think what Candace Owens said was very true. Recently the strategy of Democrats in the Senate has been to try to marginalize Supreme Court candidates and portray them as extremists of one sort or another. Or, as in the case of Cavanagh, as a sex offender. That has done nothing other than set a bad precedent.
Barrett presents a problem for them as they can’t credibly portray her as a racist or misogynist. They can’t really attack her simply because she’s a Catholic, either. That would be very counterproductive. I assume they will try to attack her as a Catholic extremist, or simply a religious fanatic. I would think their best strategy - weak as it is - is simply to concede, because there’s no way without Republican support that they can stop her accession. But they could make an issue of her danger in creating what they will term a reactionary court out of touch with “Americans”, hoping that this will prove a benefit in the upcoming election........................Luca

What would happen if the Democrats completely flipped the script and did something no one believes they are capable of - acting reasonably?
Imagine they don't attack Barrett's faith, that they take a look at her work & her past judgements, compliment her on it and confirm the nomination in line with the Republicans. Vote her in 100 to 0. It might piss off hardcore lefties like Vile Pagan, but who are those people going to vote for anyway? Can you imagine the impact it would have on independents or those who don't like Trump but can't swallow the current progressive agenda?
Biden could follow their cue, say something like Barrett was someone he would have considered for the position and he is happy that a person of the same faith as him is on the Supreme Court. He could be welcoming & congratulatory instead of demeaning and the effect of those actions would rumble through the electorate.
Barrett is going to be on the Supreme Court no matter what the Dems do. They can either be smart & handle it in a way that could win them the presidency and possibly other elections or they can dig their heels in & be Democrats. Luckily for us, they will choose the latter.
Like Vilepagan, they are so stupid.

Biden is as Catholic as Trump is a Christian With the difference being Biden invokes his "faith" when it is convenient, Trump not so much. It doesn't make one person better or more moral than the other, but it does show Biden to be the true used car salesman while Trump is the one with sincerity. |
