Your program rose as a result of better coaching with O'Shea, and became a destination for QBs & Wrs over Newport, LMFAO @ Newport kids over Newport kids, seriously Bick. They are also within the same district anyway and even combined the would be on par w/ the over 3K enrollment publics. If we haven't thrown that idea out over the decades! Booty only started at CDM FROSH. I can only hope for the best for him, would be an astonishing journey should he make the cut, from HS to HS, JUCO and then prime time D1 NCAA.

Booty's inability to make basic throws was probably the main reason his JSerra team melted down as bad as they did.

I wonder when the Newport Harbor propaganda machine is going to start up again. It's been a quiet offseason.

Are you talking about the CIF Football Champions Newport Harbor Tars? Lore. America's team. Max's team. The Flagship of the Sunset League. Don't you think you're stretching things a bit, Tar? The fact that it's "Max's team" is probably best kept a secret. And in 58 years, Newport Harbor is 154-160 in Sunset League games with five league championships. Anaheim, Edison, Los Alamitos, Fountain Valley, Esperanza, Santa Ana and Fullerton have all won more titles. Doesn't that make Newport more of a tugboat than a flagship?

these one-liners are sticking around...., from the comment section at 247 sport... "Rasor keeps looking sharp in these camps. Surely he will edge up to make the cut to be a 4-star" From 247sports ~ Brandon Huffman 247sports.com/Article/Top-Performers-from-the-Las-Vegas-ESPN-300-Elite-Underclassmen-Camp-187861713/ Here's our look at some of the top performers we saw from today’s camp. It was a strong camp overall and with as many players as there were, it was impossible to see and fully evaluate everyone.
ALPHA DOG - Seuseu Alofaituli, 2025, OL, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
Alofaituli was one of the two OL MVPs, along with his teammate Douglas Utu, and he emphatically won each of his reps. It wasn't just in the 1on1's he shined- though that obviously was the most notable, but he was great in all the drills, showing great flexibility and natural bend, ability to anchor and show change of direction and explosive hands. He was running first in many of the drills and you wouldn't have guessed he was a freshman out there. Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State and Utah are some of the early offers.
NEXT FIVE OFFENSE
David Rasor, QB Newport Beach (Calif.) Corona del Mar
The group of quarterbacks was a strength of the camp and the three-star turned in the most consistent performance to grab the MVP honor. He looked to be in rhythm throughout, displaying a soft touch in one-on-one battles but also the arm strength to fit throws into tight windows when it required some extra zip. Rasor picked up his first offer from Penn earlier this month and has thrown for the likes of Stanford, Washington State and San Diego State this spring.
Major Givens, RB, Spring Valley (Calif.) Steele Canyon
Givens is a player we've liked at a number of camps this spring, and he plays with great energy and takes as many reps as he can. In the 1on1s with the linebackers, he showed a suddenness and elusiveness in cutting, leaving a linebacker lunging then effortlessly reeling the pass in. He's well put together but with room to add some muscle. All three service academies have offered and so has FCS runner-up Montana State among others.
Jaiden Moss, RB, 2024, Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Etiwanda
Moss is a dynamic route runner, like Givens, he was pretty shifty and got behind linebackers with ease. Watching him in the drills, you can see how quick his cuts are and when he puts his foot in the dirt, he explodes coming out of it. Purdue was the first to offer Moss.
Jaylon Edmond, WR, 2024, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
A smaller, shiftier pass-catcher with good route running ability, Edmond repeatedly found open space in one-on-one battles, showing a great feel on the perimeter and getting behind defensive backs over the top to clinch the MVP award among the receivers. He was slippery on underneath routes and showed very good hand-eye coordination in the gauntlet drill. Hawaii and UNLV are two early scholarship offers for the 2024 prospect.
Douglas Utu, OL, 2025, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
Utu is everything you want an offensive tackle to look like at this stage in his career, a strong lower base that lets him anchor and set himself, but a still relatively slim upper half that can easily add weight and strength over the next few years. He took all of his reps at left tackle and he's got great feet plus tremendous body control. He doesn't lunge, he's a natural knee bender and his length above lets him get his hands on edge rushers quickly with the hands keeping them at bay. He too earned an invite to the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game. BYU, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Utah and Washington State have all offered.
