Angels are #1 in the AL-West, a full game ahead of both Houston and Seattle...
Know, I know, we're only 2 weeks into the season, but come on, we are usually headed into the basement by now.
PLUS at .638, the best percentage in the entire American League except for Boston who are only at 10 games because of the one that got rained out.

Dave, simmer down, I know you're excited. Just remember to seek medical attention if your erection lasts longer than four hours. It might be a good idea to print this morning's standings a thousand times and wallpaper your home with it, because with this rag-arm pitching staff, it ain't gonna last long.

I'm convinced that any regular poster on this forum could win a spot on the Angels pitching staff. We might miss the strike zone by 30 feet like Anthony Fauci did, but at least every other pitch wouldn't end up over the centerfield fence.

My first post on the Sports side. I'm a huge baseball fan, especially of my hometown Angels. They are a mess again, and very difficult to watch. That pitching staff sucks worse than I thought it would. With Trout out, they're tough to watch. Another wasted year by another mediocre GM. I'm very, very, disappointed.

All the blame has to be laid at the feet of Arte Moreno. He has hired three or four successive general managers who had never held the position before on a team than needs someone to rebuild it who has done it before. Unless he accidentally stumbles on an unknown genius nobody else has seen, this recipe will never work.

I've said it many times: When a team scores 7 0r 8 runs, they're supposed to win. If they do not, That falls entirely to the pitching. |

I'm with you, Duke. they beat the Royals last night, but are still 4 games below .500, 6½ out of first in what I consider a moderate-to-weak division. With Trout out, some of the others really are stepping up: Max Stassi brought in 3 last night, others are making a habit of getting on base and scoring some RBI's. But that damn pitching... the perennial complaint. I really did have high hopes for Madden. EITHER my hope was in vain, or someone higher up the food chain is ham-stringing him. |

I really did have high hopes for Madden. The problem is that Madden can't pitch. The team ERA is 5.02, the worst in the major leagues. The real problem is Arte Moreno, who keeps hiring GM's with no experience to rebuild his team. When you have a patient who needs brain surgery, you don't hire kids right out of high school to operate. They don't know how to do it. |
