An Angels fan living in the Midwest, equidistant from both the Cardinals and the Cubs, and the White Sox, I am appropriately hardened to the ins and outs of smack talk. So let the festivities begin:
to start us off this opening day, I have only this to add:

Angels...is that the JV team in the LA area? They seem like MLB's version of transgenderism. Probably why they think they're a better fit in Long Beach.

On the other hand, the Angels have something neither the Dodgers nor any other MLB team can claim -- the best player of this generation. Now if only Nolan Ryan, Frank Tanana, Mike Witt, Chuck Finley and Jered Weaver had one good year left in their arms...
I actually remember an article in the L.A. Times four or five years ago that conducted an in-depth analysis of whether Mike Trout or Yasiel Puig was the better baseball player. Boy, did that one blow up.

Dodgers have 8 HRs today--a major league record for Opening Day.

As a Long Beach resident I will say that the LAST thing we need is some damn fool boondoggle attempt to lure the Angels, who belong in Anaheim. I have always felt I could pull for both the Dodgers and the Angels as they occupy different leagues.

How many did the JV team have? None, which is equal to the number of World Series titles the Doyers have won since my 30 year old sons were born.

When I worked managing the Mimi’s Cafe on beach blvd., the General Manager was a dyed in the wool, unrecalcitrant Dodgers fan. As a result, every Hispanic in the back of the house was also a Dodgers fan.
I felt like I do now in Central Illinois: No cheering for Angels without the deafening silence that followed, no discussion of the Angels chances, no observations about what they should have done differently in the most recent game... I was a pariah, a man without a team (at least without any claim since I wasn’t a Dodgers fan).

What the Angels should have done differently in their most recent game is score more than zero runs. And Andrew Heaney is already on the shelf with elbow pain. When do the Anaheim Ducks start training camp?

Im crying here. Angels are 1-6 on the season and the BEST thing I can say about their 11-4 loss last night to the Rangers is, Ausmus pulled Harvey at the right time but after he allowed 8 runs in 4 innings.. <wondering when the varsity team will get to play>

Albert's physical skills have deteriorated so much that it's embarrassing to watch him play, and it's sad to think he's only sticking around for the money grab.

When Moreno paid all those millions for Pujols, we knew it would come to this, and sooner rather than later.
He was 32 when he signed that 10 year contract in 2012.
He is only half way through at this point and already “earning” less than his $12,000,000 annual due. Regrettably, with his age approaching 38, and his abilities waning, we are stuck with him. The only bright spot, though quite dim: He is a free agent (at 42 y.o.) in 2022.

There's room on the Los Angeles Dodgers of Los Angeles bandwagon for you guys.
