I’m not that knowledgeable about baseball but it seems to me this would be a fairly common sense response to the Infield shifts that are sometimes used. In football when there’s an obvious all out blitz they throw swing passes and it doesn’t strike anyone as a stroke of genius. But bunting when there’s no one to the left of second base is sophisticated strategy?.............Luca Hello... Baseball is the most cerebral of all the sports, so by definition that would be sophisticated strategy.

Five straight walk-off wins just proves the Dodgers are too mediocre to put teams away early.

I have got my fingers, legs and everything else crossed that the Angels, having fired Brad Ausmus today, do whatever it takes to sign Joe Maddon to a 5 year managerial contract. Yes, I fully understand that the Angels need more pitching, but Maddon is the right fit at manager. I believe Mike Scioscia's early success with the Angels (and later lack of success) had a lot to do with having Madden as a bench coach. That is born out with Maddons success with both the Rays and Cubs, leading both franchises to World Series appearances and the Cubs to a title.
I really think Maddon would make a difference.

Dave Roberts needs to fired immediately for the debacle in his pitching decisions tonight. He already screwed up the 2017 World Series. It's time for him to go.

The Dodgers loss was worse. I haven't felt this bad since Tom Niedenfuer gave up that dinger to Jack Clark in 1985 NLCS.
