For anyone who thinks Father Jenkins was relieved as Mater Dei president because of the "hazing" case, maybe you could recommend Servite interview him for the job.

I heard Troy Thomas and Chris Weir did not get along at all, so did Weir fire Thomas? If so did Weir get fired for firing Thomas? And does that mean Servite can/will now rehire Thomas?

Can't get into the details right now, but there's a mountain of political b.s. going on. Don't look for Troy Thomas to return. That ship has sailed. I had no personal problem with him, but not a whole lot of people on campus mourning his loss. Chris Weir is as fine a man as you'll meet. Does not deserve this. We'll see what happens. |

I had no personal problem with him, but not a whole lot of people on campus mourning his loss. For what it's worth, we have heard from players, parents and youth coaches that virtually all the players at Servite hated playing for him. I doubt that players' feelings are part of the decision to part ways, but they add to the growing evidence that Thomas is a very hard man to get along with for more than a short period of time. The word on the street is that he has no personality and does not know how to treat people properly. |

My brief meeting with Coach Thomas was after our game up in the pressbox when he went up to ensure one of his disabled coaches got back down from there. I thought he was gracious in defeat, and the fact he went up there himself for that reason spoke a lot about his character.
