Read the account of the MD Servite game by Red Pill on the other board. Wow if accurate from a lot of perspectives.
Servite student body... Really dudes?
The utter domination between the lines.
The apparent dislike between Rollo and Thomas.

Maybe Bruce was still upset that Troy had bested him in three of their five previous matchups. (That is, back when the talent level of the two schools was roughly equal.)

I would imagine that there is not a great of affection from any of the Trinity League coaches for either the Bosco or MD HCs.

23/36 for 270 yards 4 TDs passing and 0 INTs and 34 points (Fifita also scored 1 rushing TD) against a defense that was only allowing 19.7 points per game, and he made it look easy. Fifita is now over 2,100 yards passing for the 8 games.

Thought I'd share this recent story in the OC Catholic newspaper about how many of the Trinity League teams have increasingly taken to travelling and scheduling out-of-state schools to fill out their non-league schedules. I draw your attention to Rollinson's quote above because it's a great dodge from the real reason Mater Dei can't find any local teams willing to play them.
Personally, I'd like to see Servite continue to schedule other non-OC Catholic schools from L.A. and maybe even expand into San Diego or Northern California, while including the better public schools on the Southern Section. One games per year against the likes of Bishop Gorman or De la Salle is also a good tune-up for Trinity League.

I don’t know, Credo. It’s legitimate question but it’s sure a tough one to figure out. I looked back over the last 15 years to see if it might offer any explanation, but all I could come up with was: From 2004 until around 2012/13 when Mater Dei decided to do expand its sacred mission and do what Jesus would by opening its doors to those poor huddled masses yearning to get attention and scholarship offers (beyond what they were getting at Mater Dei), they’d usually schedule 5 local teams in the preseason and had an overall record of 28–12 with an average margin victory of 23 points. Fair enough. A large high school winning about two thirds of its games against local opposition. Since seeing the Light and the Truth and the Way, they’ve gone 30–1 against local schools in the preseason (since 2016 they’ve only had 2 takers per year) with an average margin of victory of 34 points, increasing over the last 4 years to 41 points per game. And now – all of a sudden – they’re having problem finding local suckers. It’s just puzzling. So, who the hell knows why they’re having this problem? It eludes me but Rollinson is probably right. It’s just that nobody is interested in "good games" and "great gates" anymore. ..........................................Luca

Would like to see a bigger crowd but I'll chalk it up to this being a Thursday night with a location that makes no sense for either school. OCC must have been booked already.
Friars roll 27-0. A win next week over OLU should give us our best league finish since 2011 I believe.

Jason Negro has no one to blame but himself for starting this arms race and then getting beaten--again--by Mater Dei. Last year's 41-18 win looks increasingly like an outlier in the current state of affairs. After all the efforts of the past 10 years, he's no better than 2nd place in his own league.

Dan Albano does a nice job with his Trinity League podcast each week.
